The THEATRE TRUST SINGERS are the featured group in this fundraising concert produced by the Hawera Memorial Theatre Trust. The movement is provided by The Dance Project. Hayley Old & Tori Cleland have choreographed their group back to the 60s (and a bit of the 70s) and you will find yourself tapping your feet in time with them.

New Trustees
This year we welcomed two new trustees following the resignations of Chris Riley, Simon Shera and just recently, Donald Stockwell. All three had been Trustees since the inception of the Trust (2011) and all trustees, and the community have benefited from their time and commitment to the "guardianship" of our wonderful theatre. Simon remains as "Honorary Solicitor" and we thank him for continuing in this way.
The two new Trustees are Judy Schroder and Shaun Campbell. Judy has been involved in the Hawera Community for many years and her enthusiasm for the Arts is welcomed by the Trust. Shaun Campbell is HOD Music at Hawera High School and is a performer in his own right. We welcome them both and look forward to their contributions to the work of the Trust.

SUCCESSFUL SEASON of Hear the People Sing Song and Dance from the world's popular musicals Following the unprecedented cancellation of the opening night of Hear the People Sing , the Hawera Memorial Theatre Trust was pleased to announce that the musical extravaganza's six show performances delighted and entertained audiences from around the province and from major cities such as Auckland, Tauranga, Whanganui and Wellington. Audiences delighted in the memories evoked from the renditions of the many songs made popular on Broadway or the West End and repeated in our own local productions over the years. The cast and crew of about 100 enthusiastic theatre goers and performers were proud to be part of "bringing the theatre alive" to the community. The Trustees would like to thank everyone for their support of this show - the sponsors, the volunteers, the cast and crew, the audiences and the STDC. It was truly a community event. SUPER SOUND SYSTEM installed
Over the past two or three years, the Hawera Memorial Theatre Trust, in association with the Sth Taranaki District Council, has raised nearly $90,000 to install a state-of-the-art sound system in the theatre. The Trust is truly grateful to the funding agencies: NZCT, Pelorus Trust, TSB Charitable Trust, St Taranaki District Council Discretionary Fund and the Lotteries for their support in getting this “Rolls Royce” of sound systems into our theatre.
The speakers have been installed and this week the sound console and accompanying cabling system will be hooked up, tuned up and ready to go. This sound system has been tailor made to suit the size and layout of our theatre and patrons will experience a new, clear, crisp sound when they visit the theatre. The Trust's production of HEAR THE PEOPLE SING will be the first production to use this new sound system. Audiences will definitely be able to HEAR THE PEOPLE SING and, we hope, enjoy what they are hearing.
What this means for the community as a whole is that whenever anyone hires the theatre for their productions, they should be able to plug into the sound system that is already installed and put their performances in motion. This will be a great asset to all users and audiences.
Speaking of audiences - have you booked your tickets to the show yet? Tickets are selling well and there is only one month to go so do not miss out. You will not want to miss this this show as it relives for you, songs and dance from 14 of the world's greatest musicals.
The show runs from November 18 - November 25 with evening performances beginning at 7:30pm and the one matinee on 25 November starting at 2:00pm.
Tickets available through Hawera iSite and TicketDirect on-line.
